Buried Under the Blue is dedicated to preserving the history of the forgotten Indigenous communities of Palo Verde, La Loma, and Bishop—three communities that were wrongfully and violently displaced from their homes and land. Established long before Dodger Stadium, these communities were forcibly evicted, and many descendants of these communities still reject the modern narrative surrounding them. The legacy of displacement continues to impact Indigenous people, as these past communities, alongside present-day Indigenous communities, continue to struggle with gentrification and a lack of basic resources. By learning from our past, we can build a more just and sustainable future for tomorrow
